چکیده
Hydrogeological and Geochemical Characterization Both surface and crosshole tomographic geophysical data have been used in the saprolite and carbonate gravel (Areas 3 and 2, respectively) to delineate large scale geologic structure, nitrate plume boundaries, and localscale fracture zonation. Surface electri seismic data were originally used in a reconnaissance mode to choose the location for the Plot 2 biostimulation experime Figure F1 illustrates electrical resistivity variations along the A-A’ transect adjacent to the S-3 Ponds area. Comparison with measured nitrate concentrations (obtai from wellbore locations) shows that at this site, zones of low electrical resistivity (o high electrical conductivity) are correlated with zones having higher nitrate concentration. This observation is consistent with our other studies at the site, which suggest that electrical methods are more sensitive to variations in pore fluid ionic strength at the FRC than to hydrogeological heterogeneity. Superimposed on the electrical profile are contour lines indicating the seismic velocity gradients obtained from surface seismic data. These velocity contours can be interpreted in terms of gross lithological structure. The results of this surface geophysical study, which is further described by Watson et al. (2005), were used to define the Plot 2 biostimulation study site location, highlighted by the black rectangle in Figure F1. A

A Carcinoid Tumor of the Appendix in a Child: A Case Report
The appendix is one of the most common sites for carcinoid tumors. Most carcinoids are found in appendices removed incidentally at laparotomy for conditions unrelated to acute appendicitis. We describe the case of a 13-year-old female who presented with abdominal pain in the right lower quadrant (RLQ), with nausea and decreased appetite for the previous 2 days. A physical examination favoreda d...

considering the structure of appendix, its great blood supply and lymphatic tissue, and its anatomical location it seems to have an immunologic role.there are no clear studies regarding the relation between appendectomy and cancer of digestive system.therefore, this stuty proposed for to clarify the relation between previous appendectomy and present gastrointestinal (GI)adenocarcinoma.the cancer g...
متن کاملLand Use Monitoring using Satellite Imagery and Its Relationship with Drought in the Doiraj Watershed of Eilam Province
Today, there are many factors affecting watersheds, consequently changing natural ecosystems succession. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of drought events on land use changes at Doiraj Watershed of Ilam Province from 1996 to 2015. For this purpose, Landsat satellite images were used for land use change monitoring and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) was applied for dro...
متن کاملPrimary Lymphoma of Appendix: Report of Three Cases and Review of Literature
Lymphomatous involvement of the appendix is rare and most of them are found accidentally from appendectomies to treat appendicitis. Here we report three cases of primary lymphoma of appendix of 10 year-old boy, 23-year-old man and 24-year-old woman that presented with abdominal pain to our hospital and the tumors were discovered during routine appendectomy for suspected "appendicitis". Our case...
متن کاملFull Length Characterization of PA Gene of H9N2 Isolated from Broilers During 1998 to 2009
Background and Aims: Avian Influenza (AI) H9N2 subtype was first reported to infect turkeys in the United States in 1966 and has been panzootic in Europe and Asia. The impact of avian influenza caused by H9N2 viruses in Iran is now significantly more severe than in previous years. Methods: Sequence analysis and phylogenetic study of the complete coding region Polymerase A (PA) gene of H9N2 subt...
